Exit options explained

An MBO involves the company’s existing management team purchasing the business, often with the help of external financing (debt, personal funding or PE). An Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) is a trust set up to hold a controlling stake (typically more than 50%) in a company on behalf of its employees.
